Sowing the Seeds, a Collective of Women Writers, is offering a series of three writing workshops this year instead of their popular annual Mujeres Writing Conference.
The second
writing workshop on July 11th will focus on writing stories. Award-winning Phoenix author If I Die in Juarez, and Let Their Spirits Dance, Stella Pope Duarte is the presenter of “Writing Unforgettable
Stories.” What is the most unforgettable story you have ever heard or read? What
made the story unforgettable? In this workshop, Stella Pope Duarte, will
explore the heart of story, zeroing in on techniques for sifting through the
truth of a story, uncovering what’s real and what’s not. Senses, memory,
historical references, and observational skills will be utilized to connect the
dots and create dramatic work that will lead writers to fresh, new ways of
thinking about stories. Stranger than fiction, truth in story explores the
human heart, inspiring connections in readers and awakening the "storyteller's
heart" in us all.

Workshop fee: $20 ($15 for Seniors 60 and over) includes a
continental breakfast.
